Julio was born in Antigua Guatemala, and is the direct product of the tourism in Guatemala. His father is Guatemalan and his mother is from the United States. He has lived in Guatemala City, the United States and Italy.

 

He studied Psychology and Hospitality at City College in San Francisco, and graduated as an Executive Chef in Culinary Arts at California Culinary Academy. He has worked in the family business at Antigua Tours since 1998 and was the owner of Hotel Casa Concepcion from 2008 since 2012.

 

Julio has been the designer and creator of Hotel Sor Juana since 2012. He worked at Paula Le Educ in the food and beverage area, and was the link between the kitchen and decoration team assisting the Master of decoration, Stanlees Gatti, where he learned to achieve high levels of standards required from clients.

 

During this period, he had the honor of collaborating on events for: King Juan Carlos de España, Robin Williams, George Lucas, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Governor, Bono from U2, Kate Moss, and the Getty family from California.

 

Companies included in his portfolio are: Tiffany & CO, Prada, Hermes, William Sonoma, and Gap Inc. His events have also been featured in magazines such as: Martha Stewart, Style Me Pretty, People, Uk brides, and Modern Bride China.

 

Julio has been a member of many associations including:

 

• The Board of Directors of Cámara de Turismo de Sacatepéquez FILIAL (2008)
• Active member and Founder of the Asociación Destino Guatemala (since 2010)
• Founding member and the former President of Gremial de Bodas y Destino Luna de Miel in Guatemala from (2014 – 2017)
• A member of marketing at Segmento de Bodas del Inguat (since 2014)

 

Julio has helped to develop the Destination Wedding industry in Guatemala since 2009.
